C.P.E.
We are all aware that a certain Computer Ethics exist. This is to give us basis on the ethical and unethical behavior concerning computer and other thing that is connected to it. This law gave me an idea to create something that will guide us to a better way of living in terms of communicating to other people using the most convenient technology that we have today. The ethics that I’ve created as a guide for us in using cellular phone will be simply known as “C.P.E.” which stands for Cellular Phone Ethics.
The C.P.E. will cover the proper use of cell phone, the icons that we are restricted to explore, limitations in opening other’s files, the right text messages that we should spread out, and our right us texters in receiving text messages – if it is acceptable or not, and the step to take against all odds.
The Cellular Phone Ethics is composed of the following:
I. Thou shalt harm other using cell phones.
-sending of death threats, censored words to make war or even just to express your own opinion belongs here. It’s true that we are free to tell what’s inside our mind. But still remember, before we utter any word, we should consider the feelings of others. Better keep your silence than to break the line. And don’t give foolish death threat just to scare you colleagues. You might be destroyed-in dignity and the image that you have- to the eyes of others.
II. Thou shalt not open other people’s cell phone without authorization.
-intentionally or even accidentally opening other people’s text messages and files is covered by this section. It might contain very personal information that should not be known by others or you might see censored images and videos that can destroy the dignity of the owner. Respect the privacy of the every individual if you want your privacy to be respected, too.
III. Thou shalt not send chain messages.
-as a Comsci student, such messages like chains are a big NO in our world. This is such a fool thing to do. And sending nonsense and scary messages can cause fight and it can waste other people’s time. We must consider people whom our text is destined. Think before you text!
Conclusion:
You have read the ethics that I’ve done. This will undergo different procedures before it will be implemented. Before implementing this ethics, we should consider first the users of cell phones. Upon buying cell phone and simcard we should record the important information about the user including the user’s name, address, and pictures and even taking their finger prints.
Then in order for the ethics to be followed if it will be implemented, we should give punishments to those who will violate this ethics. 1.) First offense: Warning, 2.) Second offense: Warning with Php 1,000 damage, 3.) Third offense: Php 5 ,000 damage and it will stay in jail for one night. If the user is a student, he or she should be with his or her parents when they- the officers- will talk to the student. We must really enforce parental guidance.
