Predominate Theory in the World of Computing

Mill's Utilitarianism

John Stuart Mill’s Utilitarianism predominates in the world of computing nowadays. The happiness and pleasure we feel is encouraging us to do more even if it’s against the law. Hacking, pornography, violation of privacy, software piracy and other computer crimes are increasing even users already knew that it is immoral and unethical. Violators think only the benefits they can get. Users are benefited also in a way that they can buy cheaper software, but what about programmer(s) who created the software? Put your feet on their shoes and you will feel if somebody steals something that you have worked hard for.
Sometimes, we should be stoic so that we’ll not commit crimes and to avoid harming other users. Law should be governed by everybody. Implementation is needed to stop violations. Computers were created not only for the users. Since they are benefited, USERS should help in preventing computer abused.

    1. yeah, she's really right. but i don't really agree on the very last part. COMPUTERS weren't really created to prevent computer abused. BUT COMPUTER ABUSE was created because of so many things that we can do with the help of COMPUTERS.
      agree??

  3. definitely true! we should strictly implement laws in order to mitigate computer crimes/abuse.hence, there are still those person who is not really aware to have laws and still continuing to abuse such activities.

proper way of implementing law leads us a peaceful and well rounded community;)

  6. Someone said that pleasure is happiness. in order to attain it, we even forget to consider other people. we become selfish and think only of ourselves.it's not easy to prevent computer crimes to happen but we can atleast lessen it starting with ourselves.

  8. We have the same choice of what theory predominates in this world.... You are right.. Implementing the law is better than just making the law.

And I agree with you that users should help prevent computer abuse. But we must start in ourselves.
